Camilo Echavarria holds a Bachelor in Science from the University of Southern New Hampshire and a MA in Art History from Universidad de Antioquia. His education includes also the Resident Program at Maine Media College and MFA studies at Florida International University. The relationship of man and his habitat and the approach of landscape representation as a cultural and subjective entity have been of constant interest throughout Camilo Echavarría's different projects. Recent artistic practice diffuses the frontier between photography and video thus expanding each medium's particular narrative and descriptive possibilities.
Echavarría has shown his work recently in exhibitions such as Territorios de la imagen, Colección Jan Mulder at Casa Rimac, Lima; De colección: Adquisiciones 2011-2014 at Museo de Antioquia, Medellín; How one thing leads to another, Photolucida Critical Mass, Houston Center for Photography, Houston; Díalogo con un paisaje, Museo de Arte e Historia de Guanajuato, León, México and Saberdesconocer, 43 Salón Nacional de Artistas, Museo de Antioquia, Medellín.
